About the position

The Accounting Manager position at JM TEST SYSTEMS LLC is a critical role responsible for maintaining accurate general ledger account balances, which includes all supporting schedules and documentation. The individual in this position will be tasked with researching and correcting discrepancies in general ledger account balances, preparing and distributing financial statements, and resolving outstanding issues with division and department managers related to their financial reports. The Accounting Manager will also assist in completing selected periodic sales and production reports as assigned. In addition to these responsibilities, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in year-end financial audits, annual insurance renewals and audits, and periodic tax filings. This position will also involve assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and procedures, as well as experience in managing financial statements and general ledger functions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate general ledger account balances including all supporting schedules and documentation.
  • Research and correct discrepancies in G/L account balances.
  • Prepare and distribute financial statements.
  • Resolve outstanding issues with division/department managers related to their financial reports.
  • Assist in completing selected periodic sales and production reports as assigned.
  • Assist in completing year-end financial audits, annual insurance renewals and audits, and periodic tax filings.
  • Assess current accounting operations and offer recommendations for improvement and implement new processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or a division of a large corporation.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Sage ERP and Sage Intelligence.
