The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy and contributing to the continued success of the organization. This role is positioned to expand in scope and responsibilities to develop and grow into a Controller role over the course of the next 12-18 months.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly financial close process, including establishment of standard procedures that result in the preparation of Financial and Management reporting packages in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Provide variance analysis to prior year and/or budget.
  • Close the period timely to meet Management requirements.
  • Create and maintain checklist of standard and nonstandard journal entries and accruals needed.
  • Manage AP and AR functions and staff on a daily basis to facilitate timely closing each month.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of higher risk journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, cash reconciliations, flux analysis, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
  • Perform and review account reconciliations; identify unusual and unexpected items and follow up as appropriate.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with proper supporting documentation.
  • Participate in analysis regarding the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, using key financial and business metrics.
  • Provide and/or initiate analytics supporting underlying business drivers.
  • Support inventory management efforts including costing analysis and trends.
  • Research and provide recommendations for cost saving measures.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives and decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed forecasts and projections to guide business planning.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement long-term financial strategies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic goals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Provide training to other team members in needed areas.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget.
  • Limiting travel may be required from time to time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Previous experience leading month-end close.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and advanced Excel functions.
  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting tools.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Accounting principles.
  • Excellent research and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with a moderate degree of independence.
