About the position

The Accounting & Collections Manager plays a crucial role in the leadership team of a municipality organization in Deerfield, MA. This position is responsible for providing financial support across various operational areas, managing accounting records, and overseeing the organization's banking activities and cash flow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and collections, along with leadership experience to mentor and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Handle and oversee billing, collection, processing, record keeping of fees and payments owed
• Manage the receipt, recording, custody, and disbursement of the organization's funds including accounts payable and payroll
• Work closely with the banks to manage, monitor and analyze borrowing, investing and management of the organization's funds
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial reports

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role including hands on experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Bank Reconciliations
• 1+ Years of Supervisory Experience
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and Financial software
• Proficient in Capital Management
• Ability to manage, organize and update relevant data using database applications
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field is required; advanced degrees and/or related certifications are a plus
• Experience working within a Municipality or Non-Profit organization is preferred, but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
