About the position

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager (Expense Control) to join our dynamic finance team. This position is a contract to hire opportunity that offers an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in managing our company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our finance department, with a focus on expense control, bookkeeping, and reconciliation. This role will be instrumental in maintaining our financial health and ensuring we meet our fiscal goals. As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes. You will coordinate and execute annual financial audits, implement and maintain the company's financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash. Additionally, you will review and ensure the application of appropriate internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures. Ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for the company's board of directors, shareholders, and senior management will be a key responsibility. You will also coordinate the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances. Monitoring expense control and identifying cost-saving opportunities will be crucial, as will providing strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs. Developing and coordinating relationships with lending and financial institutions, as well as participating in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the senior management team, will round out your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with 10 years experience in Expense Control.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proven experience with financial management software, including Great Plains (preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis.
  • Proven expertise in expense control and financial management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly with Excel.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
