About the position

Baker Tilly is seeking a Family Office Accounting Manager to join its rapidly growing consulting and accounting firm. This role involves providing accounting and consulting services to ultra-high net worth individuals and family clients, focusing on partnership accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and advising on complex intergenerational wealth strategies. Responsibilities

  • Oversee full accounting processes including maintaining/reviewing the general ledger and generating journal entries.
  • Coordinate monthly close and maintain budgets, reporting on budget to actual.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements with related workpapers.
  • Supervise and review the accounts payable function.
  • Mentor and supervise team members.
  • Coordinate payroll with clients and the Family Office payroll team.
  • Manage and review bank, brokerage, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Perform reconciliations and analysis for balance sheet accounts, including inter-company accounts.
  • Prepare annual K-1 reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax packages and supporting documents.
  • Respond to client requests and inquiries, managing client relationships on a day-to-day basis.
  • Handle special projects as needed.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development through education and training opportunities.
  • Network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients.
  • Support the growth and development of team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related degree.
  • CPA eligible preferred.
  • 6 to 9 years of progressive accounting/bookkeeping experience.
  • 3 plus years of professional services experience preferred.
  • 3 plus years of supervisory experience.
  • Team management skills including ability to lead, direct and coach staff.
  • Ability to build and cultivate strong personal relationships with peers and clients.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and QuickBooks.
  • Strong project management and client service skills.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
  • High attention to detail, problem solver, and intellectually curious.
  • Adhere to the highest level of confidentiality.
