About the position

The Accounting Manager at Glacier Restaurant Group (GRG) plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial reporting and facilitating efficient business practices. This position is integral to the financial health of the company, working within a dynamic, team-oriented environment that fosters collaboration and innovation. The role involves overseeing various accounting functions and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, all while contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Reconciles monthly bank statements for assigned locations.
  • Prepares and maintains prepaid expense schedules for assigned locations.
  • Enters and processes payables for Glacier Restaurant Group and CM Brands.
  • Accurately records health, dental, and vision insurance expense allocation to each company reimbursing GRG through intercompany payables.
  • Prepares and emails monthly statements for guest charges, house accounts, and trade accounts.
  • Prepares reimbursing entries for inter-company payables.
  • Accurately posts payments received and prepares payments for deposit.
  • Assists in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Prepares the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as assigned.
  • Reviews and assists with quarterly payroll filings for assigned locations.
  • Assists with processing weekly payroll for assigned locations as needed.
  • Assists with processing weekly accounts payable for assigned locations as needed.
  • Possesses working knowledge of current state and federal wage/hour and other payroll rules and regulations.
  • Reviews payroll(s) for compliance with federal and state wage and hour regulations, including but not limited to minor hour work restrictions and break rule compliance.
  • Reviews and assists in preparation of annual W-2 and W-3 filings for assigned locations.
  • Assists Controller with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA in Accounting and/or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with current accounting and payroll practices and products in the industry.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies, customers, and the business community.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to unforeseen priority changes.
  • High levels of objectivity and emotional consistency.
  • Ability to represent the company in a positive and professional manner.
  • Self-directed with the ability to set achievable deadlines and work autonomously.
  • Ability to work productively both independently and in group settings with conflicting interests.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide variety of individuals.

Nice-to-haves
