About the position

The Manager of Grants Accounting is responsible for overseeing post-award financial management for the CNH and CNRI portfolio of sponsored programs. This role involves leading a team in the preparation of invoices, financial reports, account reviews, and ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations. The manager will interact with principal investigators and various business units to ensure effective financial management and reporting of grants and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for preparation of invoices and financial reports.
  • Conduct account reviews and analysis, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with institutional and federal regulations.
  • Interact with principal investigators and other business units to accomplish tasks.
  • Oversee grant accounting compliance requirements throughout accounting transactions and financial reporting.
  • Serve as the financial contact on sponsored agreements regarding invoicing and financial reporting.
  • Supervise the team, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Coordinate with the Grant Accounting Supervisor to manage portfolio assignments of awards.
  • Assist with monthly accounting of grant-related transactions and manage workload distribution.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing of programmatic awards and financial closeout of expired awards.
  • Prepare monthly metrics reports and ensure accurate reporting in Power Business Intelligence Dashboard.
  • Support Senior Grant Accountants in financial reviews during GCAF Center Meetings.
  • Work closely with the Director of Accounting on data analytics and communication with auditors.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the development and maintenance of enhancements to grant-related applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Health Care, Public Administration or related field.
  • 5 years of accounting and grants accounting experience in a progressive academic institution or academic medical center setting, including supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of NIH Grants Policy Statement, FAR and DFAR clauses, Uniform Guidance, OMB Circulars, and Single Audit.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7 years of accounting and grants accounting experience in a progressive academic institution or academic medical center setting, including supervisory experience.
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification.

Benefits

  • Full-Time Salary Range: $85,404.80 - $142,334.40
