About the position

The Accounting Manager at Hotel del Coronado will oversee the hotel's accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income audits. This role is crucial for ensuring financial profitability and delivering outstanding guest service. The manager will lead the audit staff, manage general ledger reconciliations, and supervise financial reporting processes, all while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles General Ledger accounts and reviews problematic accounts.
• Directs staff in follow-up of accounts.
• Manages the performance of the Audit staff in Finance, including hiring, training, and monitoring accuracy.
• Supervises all staff in the absence of the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance.
• Controls and tracks inventories of the hotel's operational, departmental, and team member meal budgets.
• Assists Front Office management in interfacing front office and back-office systems and troubleshooting complications.
• Calculates and produces daily deposit transmittals for checks received.
• Conducts monthly payroll audits and issues all paychecks.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hospitality accounting management experience.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and auditing processes.
• Ability to work with various accounting software and systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a luxury hotel environment.
• Knowledge of Micros/Point of Sale systems.
