The Accounting Manager I role is a key member of the Accounting team, which reports to and works closely with the US Senior Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager I collaborates within both the broader Finance team and other business units to ensure financial results are recorded and reported effectively and efficiently through strong analytical and technical accounting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in a key leadership role for the month-end close process, including supervising other members of the Accounting team to ensure financial results are accurate, consistent with IFRS and US GAAP as appropriate, and reported on the determined month-end close timeline.
  • Manage ongoing accounting processes, including bank reconciliations, inventory movements, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for all companies as needed.
  • Assist with the month-end financial reporting.
  • Review and analyze balance sheet fluctuation movements on a monthly basis and help to prepare summary reports for CFO.
  • Assist with annual audits, providing data and responding to queries as needed.
  • Mentor and develop more junior members of the Accounting team.
  • Involved in implementation of and ongoing SOX control measures, ensuring that requirements are met.

Requirements

  • 2 - 3+ years' of previous experience in a similar finance environment.
  • Experience of US GAAP reporting and SOx compliance is desirable.
  • Independent thinker/problem solver with strong analytic skills.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Sound, up-to-date technical accounting knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting ERP software.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA is not a requirement but a nice to have.
