About the position

Tatum by Randstad is partnering with a growing food manufacturer that creates more nutritious and convenient baby food options for parents. This is a great opportunity to grow with this company as they are working towards an IPO or M&A transaction in the near future. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in overseeing the company's month-end close processes, accounts payable, cash management, and financial statement analysis. This role will serve as the escalation point for the AP team, provide cash forecasting insights, and work closely with department heads to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing efficient processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies. This is a fully remote position and must be willing to work flexible hours since the team works out of multiple time zones. The compensation range for this amazing opportunity is $57/hr. to $67/hr. based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses of monthly financials.
  • Conduct cross-functional financial reviews with department heads, addressing forecasts, variances, and any accounting issues.
  • Serve as the escalation point for the AP team, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Monitor the company's cash position through daily tracking of cash disbursements, receipts, and bank reporting.
  • Provide insights on cash flow forecasting to aid financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller/CFO on the annual audit and preparation of financial statements, including footnotes.
  • Maintain adherence to company accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve departmental efficiency through process redesign and automation.
  • Implement best-in-class processes, ensuring departmental productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support system implementations and improvements as needed.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as directed by business priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MS and/or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience within consumer products manufacturing or distribution industry experience is required (multi-site location preferred), and food manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with mid to large-scale accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Sage X3).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with the ability to develop, maintain, and analyze complex spreadsheets.
  • Must be flexible with working hours since the team is located throughout the US.
