About the position

The Meta Reality Labs (RL) Accounting Team is seeking to fill the role of Manager. The successful candidate will be part of the RL Accounting Team, partnering cross-functionally with Reality Labs Research, Manufacturing Supply Chain, Technical Accounting, and Finance to support new business initiatives. This role involves providing ideas and insights, creating scalable processes, and offering accounting guidance as needed. The candidate will work closely with a diverse range of business partners across infrastructure, manufacturing supply chain, and R&D teams to deliver GAAP and SOX compliant solutions for complex multibillion-dollar challenges. The individual must be a self-starter who can work with limited direction while taking full ownership of their areas of responsibility. They will be expected to problem-solve, recommend solutions, and exercise good business judgment while performing their functions. A strong business acumen, coupled with a technical accounting background and excellent communication skills, is essential for effectively facilitating information flow between all business partners. As the Accounting Manager for Reality Labs, the responsibilities include managing and overseeing global end-to-end accounting flows, controls, and related projects, with a particular focus on Opex and manufacturing equipment related to Reality Labs R&D and Manufacturing. The candidate will partner with cross-functional teams within Reality Labs, serving as the go-to person for the RL Accounting Team to provide necessary accounting guidance and support decision-making for Opex. They will also develop and maintain processes around cost accounting methods, partner with Finance, Operations, and Business Development teams to understand business models, and provide accounting support for all existing contracts and new deals on a forward-looking basis. Additionally, the candidate will review contracts to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies, document technical accounting positions on significant multiple element business arrangements, assist with month-end close procedures, fulfill internal and external audit requests, and assist with the preparation of quarterly reporting packages to management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee global end-to-end accounting flows, controls, and related projects, focusing on Opex and manufacturing equipment related to Reality Labs R&D and Manufacturing.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams of Reality Labs business, providing required accounting guidance and supporting decision-making for Opex.
  • Develop and maintain processes around cost accounting methods.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, and Business Development teams to understand business models and provide accounting support for existing contracts and new deals.
  • Review contracts to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Document technical accounting positions on significant multiple element business arrangements.
  • Assist with month-end close procedures including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and other duties as necessary.
  • Fulfill internal and external audit requests.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly reporting packages to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Internal Controls
  • Experience implementing and improving business processes and systems
  • Highly collaborative temperament, effective communication skills, and demonstrated experience to work in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits

  • $113,000/year to $165,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
  • Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
