About the position

The Accounting Manager will assist the Corporate Controller in managing day-to-day and month-end accounting procedures. Responsibilities include processing journal entries, validating revenue recognition, managing general ledger reconciliations, analyzing expenses, and supporting financial statement preparation. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will monitor daily cash balances, maintain fixed assets, and provide leadership to the Finance Team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare timely, accurate financial statements in collaboration with the Finance Department.
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and alert the Controller.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with the revenue recognition process.
  • Supervise billing, collections, and the accounts payable function.
  • Supervise the Accounting Team and provide guidance as needed.
  • Assist external auditors during annual financial audits.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue and deferred revenue monthly.
  • Manage monthly sales tax filings and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct regular ledger maintenance and perform ad-hoc tasks as required.
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required (Master's preferred).
  • 4+ years of audit experience at a major public accounting firm is required.
  • 2+ years of corporate accounting experience is required.
  • Prior experience with managing a small team is required.
  • Prior NetSuite experience is required.
  • Proficiency in computerized ledger systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with software revenue recognition standards or Software as a Service (SaaS) is preferred.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment.
