About the position

The Corporate Accounting Manager - Sales Audit will provide positive support for the Sales Audit Shared Services Team in a professional and expedient manner using established policies, procedures, and expectations while performing at a high level of accuracy and efficiency. This individual must learn quickly, be flexible, and demonstrate a high degree of initiative. The role requires ensuring that financial reporting adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), applicable laws and regulations, and Corporate Accounting Standards. The manager will also ensure that Company Financial Policies and Procedures are consistently followed across all HE subsidiaries, communicating any exceptions to their leader or the Vice President of Finance. As a technical accounting expert, the Corporate Accounting Manager will serve as a resource to all HE properties, practicing flexible leadership and professional management skills. The position involves improving business processes and supporting critical business strategies. Responsibilities include account reconciliations, reviewing and evaluating the accuracy of general ledger account balances, maintaining strong internal controls, preparing year-end audit schedules, and conducting financial analyses. The manager will also assist the Corporate Sales Audit Leader and staff with special projects and prepare management reports as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure financial reporting is in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), applicable laws and regulations, and Corporate Accounting Standards.
  • Ensure Company Financial Policies and Procedures are followed and consistent across HE subsidiaries, communicating any exceptions to your leader or Vice President of Finance.
  • Serve as technical accounting expert and resource to all HE properties.
  • Practice flexible leadership, professional management skills, and consultative and participative decision-making skills.
  • Improve business processes and support critical business strategies.
  • Responsible for Account Reconciliations as assigned.
  • Review and evaluate the company's certain general ledger account balances for accuracy, gathering data, reviewing, evaluating, and making appropriate calculations.
  • Review and evaluate data from the company's accounting systems for accuracy in capturing information reporting data.
  • Maintain strong, effective internal controls and audit procedures.
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules for annual external audit, if applicable.
  • Research problems, determine appropriate corrections, and make recommendations as necessary.
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document record-keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using current computer technology.
  • Responsible for recording of journal entries as assigned.
  • Assist Corporate Sales Audit Leader and staff with special projects; conduct various financial analyses, and prepare special request management reports.

Requirements

  • Accounting degree and minimum 5 years' experience.
  • Experience in overall management of all aspects of accounting.
  • Extensive knowledge of spreadsheet preparation utilizing Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to learn and implement General Ledger software applications.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in internal or public accounting audit a plus.
  • Experience in amusement, retail or food industry a plus.
