About the position

As the Accounting Manager at ASM Global, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization, which is recognized as the world's leading venue management company and producer of live event experiences. This position is essential in ensuring that our financial transactions are accurately monitored and reported, contributing to the overall success of our operations. You will supervise key accounting functions including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring that all financial activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include preparing journal entries, maintaining and reconciling accounts, and preparing weekly cash reports. You will also assist in the preparation of financial statements for both our clients and ASM Global Corporate, as well as other financial reports that are critical for decision-making. Your role will involve maintaining general and subsidiary ledgers, verifying the accuracy of general ledger coding, and directing cost analyses to ensure financial integrity. In addition to your accounting duties, you will work closely with auditors to verify financial information and procedures, establish system controls for new financial systems, and develop procedures to enhance existing systems. You will also review financial statements with management personnel and assist with other duties related to venue management as assigned. This position requires strong leadership skills as you will directly supervise employees in the Finance Department, carrying out responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training, and performance appraisals. Your ability to foster a collaborative and productive work environment will be key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and other accounting functions and personnel.
  • Monitors and reviews financial transactions.
  • Prepares journal entries and maintains and reconciles accounts.
  • Prepares weekly cash reports.
  • Prepares and performs or assists with event settlements.
  • Assists with preparation of financial statements for the Client and ASM Global Corporate, and other financial reports.
  • Maintains general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and operating expenses.
  • Verifies and checks the accuracy of general ledger coding.
  • Directs and participates in cost analyses.
  • Prepares and analyzes information for financial statements and reports.
  • Works with auditors in verifying financial information/procedures.
  • Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
  • Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
  • Assists with other duties related to venue management as assigned.

Requirements

  • B. S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
  • At least 3 to 5 years' experience in public accounting and/or financial management at a supervisory level or as department head.
  • Experience with SAGE, DeFacto, D365 is desired.
  • Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.
  • Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.
  • Effective supervisory skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets and word processing software.
