About the position

The GL Accounting Manager/Supervisor role in the Transport industry is focused on overseeing the finance team's daily activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and managing the monthly and annual close processes. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to lead and support the team in achieving financial accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring timely and accurate accounting close on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis
• Monitoring inputs from shared service centers to comply with accounting and reporting standards
• Defining and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance efficiency in accounting processes
• Preparing and reviewing ledger entries and reconciliations, and performing bank reconciliations
• Providing support for internal and external audits, internal control reviews, tax audits, and more
• Overseeing the accrual management rules and performing required analyses for period close
• Reviewing Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss variations
• Conducting monthly review and analysis of reporting for the company
• Utilizing accounting software systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for financial management
• Managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), and handling billing functions.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience with Accounting Software Systems
• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with BlackLine and Concur software
• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems
• Strong knowledge of general accounting functions
• Experience managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven auditing skills
• Familiarity with billing functions
• Relevant certification or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the transport industry is desirable but not essential
