About the position

The Accounting Manager/Supervisor role at Robert Half is focused on managing key accounting functions for a nonprofit client in the housing association industry. This long-term contract position involves implementing process improvements and utilizing accounting software systems to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the entire accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Implement and streamline accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy
  • Utilize various Accounting Software Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools to facilitate accounting processes
  • Handle auditing tasks to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Manage financial services using ADP to secure, manage, and transfer money
  • Supervise the billing functions to ensure timely and accurate invoicing
  • Leverage Concur for travel and expense management, ensuring accurate record-keeping
  • Utilize Abila MIP, a comprehensive, intuitive financial management software, to enhance accounting operations
  • Lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative environment
  • Drive continuous improvement in the accounting processes, leveraging skills in process improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or in a finance department, preferably within the Housing Association industry
  • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
  • Competency in Concur software
  • Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Ability to manage all Accounting Functions effectively
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Proven track record in Auditing
  • Expertise in handling Billing Functions
  • Experience with Abila MIP software
  • Demonstrated ability in Process Improvement in a related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing work priorities.
