The Accounting Manager/Supervisor position at Robert Half in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a key role in the hospitality industry responsible for overseeing the accounting department's daily operations and financial reporting. Responsibilities

• Direct and manage daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, and cash forecasting.
• Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
• Coordinate and complete annual audits.
• Prepare and publish monthly financial statements in a timely manner.
• Establish proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues.
• Work with the executive leadership team to set financial strategy and policy.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closings.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Manage month and year-end processes, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with BlackLine and Concur software
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Ability to manage various accounting functions
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Auditing skills and experience are required
• Familiarity with billing functions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Relevant certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are advantageous
• Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role in the Accounting department is desirable.
