About the position

The Accounting Manager/Supervisor position in the pharmaceutical industry is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, preparing financial reports, and supporting audits. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly US GAAP, and involves collaboration with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end close process including preparation and/or review of all journal entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all monthly financial data in accordance with US GAAP.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting package, including variance analysis.
• Support internal and external financial reporting.
• Conduct daily cash reconciliations.
• Update weekly cash inflows/outflows and reconcile bank/general ledger.
• Work closely with other departments to develop appropriate monthly accruals.
• Document/prepare process maps for all procedures and processes of the subsidiary accounting operations.
• Implement improved processes and controls for all aspects of the subsidiary's accounting operations to enhance efficiency and financial controls and align with corporate.
• Manage state sales tax calculations and payment remittances.
• Assist with general ledger migration to ERP system used by corporate.
• Assist with year-end audits.
• Handle special projects and ad-hoc project requests as needed.

Requirements

• CPA License required.
• 8+ years of accounting experience required, including experience managing day to day accounting operations.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university.
