About the position

We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the retail industry, based in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this role, you will manage financial reporting and compliance, supervise resources, and maintain data accuracy. You will also be responsible for administering licenses and permits software, overseeing renewals, and ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administer the licenses and permits software, monitor for expiration and oversee renewals, new applications, and dissolutions.
• Maintain and update license and permit data.
• Complete various compliance-related filings and reports, including annual census reports.
• Prepare and review recurring accounting schedules and financial statements for the company.
• Supervise outsourced resources and manage their performance.
• Gain competency in financial reporting software; edit reports and create custom reports to fulfill internal requests.
• Assist with miscellaneous compliance and financial reporting tasks.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
• Follow established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Manage the process of internal quarterly financial statements preparation.
• Prepare internal Board slides presentations and annual audits with external accounting firms.
• Complete annual award schedules and miscellaneous internal reports.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Accounting Manager/Supervisor role within the Retail industry.
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems.
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is required.
• Experience with BlackLine and Concur is highly desirable.
• Proficient in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.
• Must have a strong understanding of Accounting Functions.
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential.
• Must have experience in Auditing.
• Knowledge of Billing Functions is required.
