About the position

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor in the pharmaceutical industry, based in Bridgewater, New Jersey. This position is critical in overseeing the month-end close process, preparing monthly financial reports, and supporting both internal and external financial audits. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in relation to US GAAP, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all financial data. The Accounting Manager/Supervisor will work closely with various departments to develop appropriate monthly accruals and will be responsible for documenting and preparing process maps for all procedures and processes of the subsidiary accounting operations. In addition to managing the month-end close process, the Accounting Manager/Supervisor will prepare a monthly financial reporting package that includes variance analysis. Daily cash reconciliations will also be part of the responsibilities, along with updating weekly cash inflows and outflows and reconciling bank and general ledger accounts. The role will involve managing state sales tax calculations and payment remittances, assisting with general ledger migration to the ERP system used by corporate, and supporting year-end audits. The Accounting Manager/Supervisor will also be involved in special projects and ad-hoc project requests as needed, making this a dynamic and engaging position within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for month-end close process including preparation and/or review of all journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all monthly financial data and in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting package, including variance analysis
  • Support internal and external financial reporting
  • Conduct daily cash reconciliations
  • Update weekly cash inflows/outflows and reconcile bank/general ledger
  • Work closely with other departments to develop appropriate monthly accruals
  • Document/prepare process maps for all procedures and processes of the subsidiary accounting operations
  • Implement improved processes and controls for all aspects of the subsidiary's accounting operations to enhance efficiency and financial controls and align with corporate
  • Manage state sales tax calculations and payment remittances
  • Assist with general ledger migration to ERP system used by corporate
  • Assist with year-end audits
  • Special projects and ad-hoc projects requests, as needed

Requirements

  • CPA License required
  • 8+ years of accounting experience required, including experience managing day to day accounting operations
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university
