About the position

The Accounting Manager/Supervisor role at Robert Half offers an exciting opportunity in the Non-Profit sector, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This position involves overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate processing of financial data, and providing support to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accurate accounting of funds received and ensure the timely and precise payment of bills.
  • Assist in the creation and management of budgets, as well as monitor financial issues and address them in a collaborative manner.
  • Maintain and update client data in our accounting system, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Review and approve various financial templates, including those for rent, utilities, client debt, and administrative fees.
  • Monitor and approve the entry of checks into the accounting software, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Oversee the daily monitoring of financial institutions for client deposits and make necessary entries into our accounting system.
  • Conduct regular audits of financial transactions and processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Review all bills and fund requests for clients, ensuring checks have been issued accurately and sent.
  • Handle client correspondences responsibly and serve as an available contact for client inquiries and emergencies.
  • Provide onboarding, support, and professional development for the team, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Use Accounting Software Systems, BlackLine, Concur, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning tools, and other related software to perform accounting functions and maintain records.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), and perform auditing and billing functions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the Non-Profit industry
  • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
  • Experience with BlackLine and Concur
  • Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Ability to manage all accounting functions
  • Experience handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Familiarity with auditing procedures
  • Expertise in managing billing functions
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
  • Experience with financial reporting and financial data analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Experience with financial audits and internal controls
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
