About the position

The Accounting Manager position at Robert Half involves overseeing daily accounting operations and managing a small team. The role requires strong technical accounting skills, experience with grants and compliance, and the ability to multitask effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing audits, and maintaining internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Review general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Manage funds, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and grant reporting.
• Assist with annual budget preparation, track performance, and provide regular financial forecasts and variance analysis.
• Own the month-end close process.
• Coordinate annual audits, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax obligations.
• Lead the management of grants, including cross-training with the Grants Manager for all reporting needs, enhancing current processes and controls, and compliance oversight.
• Participate in monthly financial statement review meetings with departmental VPs or Directors, manage the annual audit process with external auditors, and assist with quarterly and annual reporting needs of various departments.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector desired
• Experience with Concur and NetSuite
• Proven experience with auditing and billing functions
• Experience in grant and fund accounting
• Ability to handle budgeting and forecasting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven team leader with excellent communication skills who can manage a small staff
