About the position

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial record keeping and reporting. This role involves supervising accounting staff, maintaining financial records, and performing various technical accounting duties. The supervisor will also participate in establishing procedures for financial reporting and analysis, manage year-end closing activities, and assist with budget preparation and financial statement compilation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the accounting function and maintain data for financial reporting.
• Prepare detailed financial, accounting, and analytical reports.
• Review, analyze, and reconcile accounting records and ledgers.
• Analyze and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
• Conduct technical accounting research to implement or modify accounting standards.
• Assist in developing procedures and propose changes to accounting processes.
• Respond to inquiries from accounting staff and system users, providing solutions.
• Supervise year-end closing activities and collaborate with auditors and tax consultants.
• Assist with quarterly board reports, annual budgets, and financial statement compilation.
• Maintain knowledge of GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
• Promote a positive image of the organization in vendor and staff interactions.
• Adhere to company standards and complete duties in compliance with policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
• 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong project management and organizational skills

Nice-to-haves

• CPA preferred but not required
