About the position

The Finance Manager position in the wholesale distribution/logistics industry involves supervising accounting personnel and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and procedures. The role focuses on overseeing general accounting functions, including receivables, payables, and cash management, while also managing the monthly and quarterly close processes and preparing financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general accounting, receivables and payables, and cash management
• Manage the monthly and quarterly close processes
• Prepare, review and submit monthly management financial statements
• Conduct monthly WIP preparation and review
• Review or prepare account reconciliations
• Review or record journal entries
• Review and submit quarterly reporting package
• Analyze revenues, expenses and balance sheet items as needed
• Approve disbursements and liaise with banks
• Assist CFO with budgeting and forecasting exercises
• Serve as the primary contact for and coordinator of annual IFRS financial statement audit
• Handle queries from and correspondence with head office accounting
• Consistently meet reporting deadlines with a goal of no adjustments or corrections after submission
• Manage and develop department personnel.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting
• 5+ years experience in accounting
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience
• Strong manual accounting experience
• Experience with month-end close processes
• High-volume sales and gross margin analysis experience
• WIP experience
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
• Strong Excel skills
