About the position

The Accounting Manager, Supply Chain and Manufacturing at Fluence will oversee the inventory subledger and coordinate with various teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. This role involves implementing inventory controls, preparing journal entries, and analyzing costs to support the financial operations of the company. The position is crucial for maintaining financial integrity within the supply chain and manufacturing sectors, contributing to the overall success of Fluence's mission in the energy storage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Own inventory subledger, coordinating with Procurement and FP&A teams for accruals and analyses.
  • Implement and manage end-to-end inventory controls, including controls related to inventory cutoff and logistics cost accruals.
  • Prepare and approve journal entries and account reconciliations to support the 5-day month-end close requirement, coordinating with shared services teams.
  • Monitor indirect costs of products, analyzing actuals and planning estimates by materials category and project/order.
  • Analyze and forecast overhead costs and rates.
  • Conduct inventory analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with periodic physical inventories.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of accounting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience with a focus in industrial manufacturing.
  • Background in contract manufacturing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the energy or energy storage business is an advantage.
  • Experience in public accounting and in publicly traded companies is required.
  • Capability to independently manage corporate financial controls in a high growth environment.
  • Proven cross-functional leadership and communication skills, including direct supervisory experience.
  • NetSuite/SAP experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent training; Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
