About the position

The Accounting Manager position at a high-growth startup entertainment company in Los Angeles is designed for an experienced Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager with a strong background in US GAAP and general ledger (GL) accounting. This role is pivotal as it involves overseeing the GL and managing the accounting operations team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for setting up the first-year audit, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and maintaining accurate financial records. The company is looking for someone who can adapt quickly to the fast-paced environment typical of a startup, demonstrating agility in switching tasks and managing multiple priorities effectively. In this role, the Accounting Manager will own the month-end close process and financial reporting, which includes creating financial statements and conducting variance analysis. The position requires preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations, as well as interacting with other business departments to ensure seamless financial operations. The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for amending and creating new internal controls, providing recommendations for new processes, and acting as the liaison between the company and the CPA firm during the financial statement audit and tax season. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the financial reporting process and ensuring that the company adheres to all regulatory requirements. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Must have public accounting experience and/or be an active CPA
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
