The Accounting Manager at Copper Valley Telecom is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the Accounting department. This role involves overseeing the processing of accounts payable and payroll, ensuring accurate and timely filing of related forms and reports. The Accounting Manager will maintain the inventory system and ensure the timely completion of Carrier Access Billings (CABS), monitoring CABS information for any irregularities. Additionally, the manager is tasked with ensuring that all financial statements are completed accurately and on time, along with filing all required reports. The position also requires preparing monthly financial analyses to support the financial health of the organization. In this role, the Accounting Manager will manage workflow and employee scheduling within the Accounting department, checking work for accuracy, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, and providing guidance and training to employees. The manager will oversee the processing of accounts payable to guarantee accurate and timely payments, as well as the processing of payroll to ensure the accuracy of benefit calculations and compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. Maintaining accurate work orders and property records is also a critical function of this position. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining a perpetual inventory system and recommending procedures to ensure adequate inventory control. This includes ensuring the timely completion of Carrier Access Billings in accordance with NECA and AECA tariffs and processes. The manager will also assist with various activities such as preparing annual capital credit allocations, processing retirement checks, and preparing information for cost separation studies. Monitoring operating cash levels and ensuring the completion of required pay telephone service reports are also part of the job responsibilities. The manager will maintain budgetary tracking mechanisms and prepare necessary support information for budget formulation, while also performing other related duties as assigned by management.
