About the position

The Accounting Manager at Hotel del Coronado will oversee the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income audits. This role is crucial for maintaining the hotel's financial integrity and delivering exceptional guest service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality accounting management and will be responsible for managing the audit function, supervising staff, and ensuring timely processing of financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Manage the audit function to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts and address problematic accounts.
• Direct staff in follow-up of accounts and manage their performance.
• Supervise all staff in the absence of the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance.
• Control and track inventories of operational and departmental budgets.
• Assist Front Office management with interfacing systems and troubleshooting issues.
• Calculate and produce daily deposit transmittals for checks received.
• Conduct monthly payroll audits and issue paychecks.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hospitality accounting management experience.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and auditing processes.
• Ability to manage and train staff effectively.
• Proficient in accounting software and financial systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Micros/Point of Sale systems.
• Knowledge of hotel operations and financial management.
