About the position

As an Accounting Manager at Caterpillar, you will oversee financial reporting and analysis for the Enterprise Aftermarket Parts FP&A Team. This role involves managing complex accounting tasks, providing technical expertise, and supporting business processes. You will engage with various accounting functions and collaborate with management to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead internal Management Accounting, including actual results, quarterly RBM, and annual business planning.
  • Estimate various forecast and budget scenarios based on changing business conditions.
  • Conduct financial accounting, including consolidation of division results and variance analysis.
  • Present and explain financial results to management.
  • Lead Aftermarket Parts integration into Global Finance strategic initiatives.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance.
  • Prepare reports summarizing and forecasting business activity and financial position.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and practices, collaborating with auditors and financial professionals.
  • Oversee and evaluate accounting staff activities, providing professional development and problem-solving support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Knowledge of effective planning techniques for operational, tactical, and strategic planning.
  • Analytical thinking skills to determine root causes of problems and create solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to transmit and interpret ideas and information accurately.
  • Judgment and decision-making skills to evaluate business situations and choose optimal paths forward.
  • Knowledge of accounting methods and processes to maintain and prepare financial statements.
  • Financial analysis skills to interpret financial and numerical material accurately.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting processes and ability to create thorough financial reports.
