About the position

As the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and reports. You will oversee various accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position also involves supporting audits, budgeting, and forecasting activities, while mentoring accounting staff. The role is hybrid, requiring regular attendance in the Concord, CA office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and discrepancies.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure accurate recording of transactions and adjustments.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve reconciliations prepared by junior staff.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
  • Implement recommendations from audit findings.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Ensure proper documentation and support for tax filings.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Mentor and train junior accountants and staff.
  • Provide guidance and support on accounting issues and inquiries.
  • Delegate tasks and oversee the completion of accounting assignments.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
