About the position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation of subsidiary ledgers and ensuring accurate posting of transactional data to the general ledger. This role involves supervising accounting personnel, preparing financial reports, and assisting with audits, while adhering to ITAR standards. The position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and ERP systems, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel preparing subsidiary ledgers (A/R, A/P, J/C, fixed assets, cash management, payroll) and posting transactional data to the general ledger.
• Jointly responsible with the Plant Controller for performance evaluation of personnel, including recommending training, hiring, and termination.
• Prepare and post recurring, standard, and correcting entries to the general ledger after reviewing interfaced data from subsidiary ledgers.
• Assist in physical inventory counts.
• Prepare government-related reporting, including census reports and tax filings.
• Assist with financial close and reporting requirements.
• Responsible for account reconciliations and subsidiary ledger verification.
• Assist internal/external auditors as required.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for internal and external sources as required.
• Provide support for all other tasks assigned by the Plant Controller.
• Adhere to ITAR-specific job standards and training, safeguarding ITAR-sensitive information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• At least 5 years of related accounting experience in a fast-paced professional environment.
• 2-5 years of management/supervisory experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
• Understanding and support of company policies and procedures.
• Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and percentages.
• Ability to pass an ITAR-grade background check.
• Ability to maintain total confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
