About the position

The Accounting Manager at Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. plays a crucial role in overseeing all accounting functions within the organization. This position is integral to the financial health of the company, ensuring that all accounting processes are executed efficiently and accurately. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for month-end processes, preparing financial reports, conducting reconciliations, managing payroll, overseeing sales commissions, and handling accounts payable. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to achieve financial objectives. In this position, the Accounting Manager will compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries that document business transactions. They will also be tasked with preparing General Ledger (GL) accounts and bank reconciliations, as well as financial statements and other reports that summarize the company's financial position. Maintaining an Accounting Policy database is another key responsibility, along with identifying control gaps and developing appropriate control procedures to address any deficiencies. The Accounting Manager will assist in preparation for both internal and external audits, and will be expected to develop financial analysis and cost accounting skills. The role also involves overseeing payroll and accounts payable functions, ensuring that all financial operations run smoothly. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager and may be required to perform other job-related duties as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries documenting business transactions.
  • Prepares GL Account and Bank Reconciliation.
  • Prepares financial statements and other reports to summarize the company's financial position.
  • Maintains Accounting Policy database.
  • Identifies control gaps and develops appropriate control procedures to resolve deficiencies.
  • Assists in preparation for internal and external audits.
  • Develops financial analysis and cost accounting skills.
  • Oversees payroll and accounts payable functions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP.
  • Proven track record of working in a team environment with a variety of departments.
  • Experience working with an ERP system.
  • Three (3) years of Plant Manufacturing experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Packaging industry experience.
  • AS400 experience.
