About the position

The Accounting Manager position is a critical role within our finance department, located in Santa Ana, CA. This position is temp to hire, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $64 to $75, depending on experience. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting team and ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with applicable regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to develop and implement effective financial policies and workflows. The successful candidate will work closely with the heads of finance to establish best practices and improve the efficiency of the accounting processes. In this role, the Accounting Manager will assign tasks and projects to the finance and accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that all team members are aligned with the company's financial goals. The manager will also be responsible for evaluating financial transactions to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This includes managing the close process to ensure that financial statements are accurate, complete, and submitted to corporate in a timely manner. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will review reconciliations, provide constructive feedback to the accounting team, and conduct audits of accounts to ensure compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying risks associated with accounts and implementing strategies to mitigate those risks. Overall, the Accounting Manager will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the company's financial reporting and ensuring the success of the accounting department.

Responsibilities

  • Assigning accounting tasks or projects to a company's finance and accounting staff
  • Developing a company's financial and accounting policies, workflows and methods after consultations with heads of finance
  • Managing a team of Accountants working on a company's projects
  • Providing ongoing feedback to accounting team to find better processes and isolate risk associated with account(s)
  • Evaluating a company's financial transactions to ensure they comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and/or IFRS
  • Managing close process to close the books and ensure financials are accurate, complete and provided to corporate in a timely manner
  • Reviewing reconciliations and providing feedback to accounting team
  • Auditing accounts to ensure they comply with the company's policy and/or state/federal regulations

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Proven experience in managing a team
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to develop and implement financial policies and workflows

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification
  • Experience with financial software and accounting systems
