About the position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards, overseeing the accounting team, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and improving accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings
• Prepare financial reports for management and stakeholders
• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately
• Maintain and update accounting records, files and general ledger records
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
• Prepare monthly financial reports in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and analyze budgets and results
• Manage banking relationships
• Reconcile multiple bank statements, domestic and international
• Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger
• Examine tax policies and interact with the outside tax firm
• Prepare commission reports for review
• Prepare sales and use tax returns for US and Canada
• Assist with Accounts Payable and Receivable as needed
• Assist with collection of accounts as needed
• Ensure accurate product costs are set by other departments
• Provide backup Payroll processing as needed
• Acts as the Corporate Secretary/Treasurer

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance or related field
• 7+ years' experience in business finance
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Dynamics
• Background in Sales and Use tax is useful
• Understanding of state, federal and international financial regulations
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
