About the position

Oxford Life Insurance is seeking to fill a full-time Supervisor of Financial and Budgetary Reporting. This is a mid-level position with the great opportunity of joining a creative and dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have advanced knowledge in statutory accounting principles, GAAP concepts, effectively communicating with customers, and guiding a staff. The Supervisor of Financial and Budgetary Reporting will work directly under the supervision of the management team including the Controller and the Chief Financial Officer. The role involves preparing and developing managerial reports that reflect the balance sheet, income statements, and significant events and/or trends. The candidate will research and understand significant accounting events by interviewing essential personnel and/or reviewing source documents. Additionally, the Supervisor will oversee the reconciliation of important asset and liability accounts on a monthly basis and participate in meetings with various levels of management to further the understanding of financial performance or communicate department needs. The position also requires preparing and guiding the preparation of audit schedules for internal/independent auditors, answering inquiries regarding audit and accounting matters, and designing and implementing new programs and procedures to improve accounting accuracy and effectiveness.
