About the position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and internal policies. This role involves managing financial procedures, preparing financial reports, supervising staff, and collaborating with other departments to support the organization's financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders, management, and external parties such as investors and regulatory authorities.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate annual audits and reviews with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the accounting department.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and business planning.
  • Identify areas for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and legal, to support business objectives and resolve financial issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • 5 years of accounting experience.
  • 2+ years of management experience required.
  • Purchase account experience required.
  • M&A experience required.
  • Proven experience (~5+ years) in accounting or finance roles.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle - NetSuite) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
