As an Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis. You will coordinate and manage month-end close procedures, ensuring accurate recording of revenue, manufacturing costs, and expenses. Your leadership will direct and oversee the work of accounting team members, which includes accounts payable, general accounting, cost accounting, and fixed asset accounting. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional business partners on continuous improvement initiatives to drive operating efficiency. Building and maintaining relationships within the Pregis Accounting network will be essential to drive the adoption of best practices. You will lead and coordinate the annual external audit, ensuring that actions are put in place to mitigate and remediate audit risks. Additionally, you will actively engage in the professional development of your staff, providing them with opportunities for growth and advancement. You will partner with Plant Management teams to ensure a clear understanding of performance versus targets and prior year across the P&L and Balance Sheet, identifying areas for improvement and assisting in prioritization. Your role will also involve ad-hoc analysis of financial and operating metrics to support business needs, providing key decision support to manufacturing plants, and leading cash management forecasting for the business unit. You will ensure the completion of weekly reviews of operational and financial results variances to identify unusual variances, report root causes, and drive remediation where applicable. Supporting the operating units' annual budget process will also be part of your responsibilities, requiring a complete understanding of opportunities and risks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage month-end close procedures ensuring accurate recording of revenue, manufacturing cost, and expenses.
  • Direct and oversee the work of accounting team members ensuring accuracy and timeliness of delivery.
  • Work with cross functional business partners on continuous improvement initiatives to drive operating efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 5+ years' experience with progressively increasing responsibility in accounting/finance in a manufacturing environment or in Public Accounting
  • CPA, CMA or Masters degree in Accounting preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Large scale ERP experience preferred
  • SAP experience a strong plus
  • Strong MS Excel skills required
