About the position

The Accounting Manager will oversee accounting and reporting for Invenshure and its portfolio of start-up companies. Invenshure provides a unique opportunity to obtain exposure to start-up companies, private equity, venture capital, and mergers & acquisitions. In addition to the requirements below, a successful candidate will have excellent communication and writing skills. Adaptability and creativity are also essential skills for success, especially given the fast-paced and ever-evolving environment that Invenshure operates within. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and/or execute accounting and reporting for Invenshure and its portfolio companies.
  • Oversee month-end close processes.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable and expense reimbursements.
  • Handle accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections.
  • Coordinate payroll via third-party provider.
  • Manage insurance coverage via third-party providers.
  • Maintain capitalization tables.
  • Prepare tax requests for third-party tax preparation.
  • Respond to due diligence requests from investors and acquirers.
  • Collaborate on other projects and initiatives with the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Work with the Financial Planning & Analysis department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or another quantitative discipline.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in accounting.
  • Ability to manage and maintain a general ledger.
  • Ability to execute and improve efficient month-end accounting closes.
  • Ability to generate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Technical accounting research skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Evidence of advanced problem-solving, innovative thinking, and strategic planning to deliver creative solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication, and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment, and be able to meet tight deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active or inactive CPA designation.
  • Both public accounting and industry accounting experience.
  • Systems implementation experience.
  • Internal control design experience.
