About the position

The Accounting Manager is a key member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records. This role is an ideal opportunity for a highly motivated individual to step in as Cyberhaven's first in-house accounting team member. You will work closely with the current outsourced accounting team to bring various functions in-house including but not limited to order-to-cash, monthly close, accounts payable, and payroll. You will also collaborate with other departments to support financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have had experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with experience in multiple accounting functions. Implementing systems, working cross-functionally, and the ability to work on multiple projects at once are key attributes. The Accounting Manager will report to the CFO and will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Order-to-Cash function
  • Manage the Accounts Payable function
  • Manage Banking operations
  • Assume responsibility for the management of monthly close functions from outsourced accounting team
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Oversee U.S. payroll operations
  • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data
  • Project manage the updating of the company's Chart of Accounts
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, implement best practices, and enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Prepare and file tax returns
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems and software to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
  • 10+ years of accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • Experience in overseeing U.S. payroll operations
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Online, with experience upgrading ERP
  • Experience transitioning outsourced accounting work to in-house
  • Track record of managing first audit at growth technology company
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
