About the position

System One has partnered with a dynamic and innovative company in Colorado Springs to assist them in their search for an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices. This role is crucial in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will also develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company guidelines. Additionally, the position requires providing variance analysis and insights, preparing and analyzing financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide management with accurate and timely financial information for decision-making purposes. The Accounting Manager will coordinate and assist with audits, tax filings, and other financial activities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes is also a key responsibility. Collaboration with other departments, such as finance, operations, and human resources, is essential to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company guidelines.
  • Provide variance analysis and insights, prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide management with accurate and timely financial information for decision-making purposes.
  • Coordinate and assist with audits, tax filings, and other financial activities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practices.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Active CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
