About the position

The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations of a leading food distribution company, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and leading a team of accounting professionals. This role involves managing month-end close processes and implementing best practices to enhance financial systems in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor accounting staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
• Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Prepare the monthly financial reporting package.
• Prepare quarterly customer profit & loss income statements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, including monthly margin analysis and audits to identify discrepancies.
• Process bi-weekly payroll and assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring workload balance to deadlines.
• Assist in the preparation and management of the annual budget and financial forecasts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on managerial responsibilities.
