About the position

The Cluster Accounting Manager will oversee the period-end process for the cluster, ensuring accurate and timely closing of the books. This role involves managing local policies, processes, and controls within global frameworks, and acting as the main point of contact for the GBS Service Delivery Lead. The manager will collaborate with Group Finance to apply accounting policies at the cluster level and support stakeholders in decision-making processes. The position requires a strong understanding of financial numbers and risk control frameworks, along with solid business knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the period-end process for the cluster, ensuring accurate and timely closing of the books.
  • Ensure local policies, processes, and controls are in place and compliant with global frameworks.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the GBS Service Delivery Lead, ensuring timely responses regarding accruals and provisions.
  • Provide relevant information to the Service Delivery Centre in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with Group Finance to apply Group Accounting policies at the Cluster level.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring all findings are addressed and resolved.
  • Develop effective processes for quarterly balance sheet reviews with the Cluster Finance Controlling Director.
  • Investigate and action low ICF ratings and ensure compliance with new or enhanced ICFs.
  • Facilitate close meetings and maintain communication between the Baltimore team and SDC Warsaw.
  • Review and adjust accrual policies as required and address process deficiencies.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in an Accounting/Controlling role
  • Accounting Degree
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in managing recurring work to meet simultaneous due dates
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Highly reliable with a strong sense of accountability
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems (AX experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of reporting applications (HFM and Management Reporter is a must)
