About the position

Pioneer Critical Power is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team in Champlin, MN. The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial management. This role is crucial as the company experiences rapid growth, and the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. The position reports directly to the parent company's CFO and indirectly to the General Manager, with training and support provided by the Company’s Fractional CFO, a former Controller. The Accounting Manager is expected to advance to the position of Divisional Controller in the near future. In this role, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial data to senior management. They will coordinate the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts, monitor budget performance, and provide variance analysis. The Accounting Manager will also oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, manage cash flow, and optimize working capital. Compliance with GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements is essential, as is the coordination and management of external audits and internal control reviews. The role includes supervising, mentoring, and developing accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment, and identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. The Accounting Manager will also support strategic initiatives and special projects as required, providing financial insights to support business decisions. This position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $140,000, with opportunities for professional growth and development in a supportive and collaborative work environment. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, SOX and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in ERP implementations.
  • Experience in multi-state sales and use tax filings.
  • Experience in job costing and inventory control.
  • Experience in manufacturing and service industries, preferably with a focus on back-up power generation and/or EV charging equipment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
