About the position

The position involves administering and managing the daily activities of the accounting function at the facility. The individual will assist in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities related to financial management, budget, accounting, and purchasing, ensuring compliance with State and Federal laws as well as ASM Global policies and procedures. The role encompasses performing all Accounts Receivable functions, which include purchasing, receiving, general ledger management, and other accounting functions. Additionally, the individual will supervise Petty Cash for all departments and complete Food & Beverage (F&B) analysis for events, overseeing procedures and operations related to F&B inventory. The responsibilities also include processing and recording deposits, preparing and inputting general, subsidiary, and operating ledger entries on a monthly basis, and verifying the accuracy of general ledger coding. The individual will establish system controls for new financial systems and develop procedures to improve existing systems while monitoring and reviewing financial transactions. They will prepare journal entries, maintain and reconcile accounts, and assist with the preparation of financial statements for the Client and ASM Global Corporate, along with other financial reports. The role requires directing and participating in cost analyses, working with auditors to verify financial information and procedures, and reviewing or preparing event invoices and settlement documents as necessary. Monthly bank reconciliations will also be part of the responsibilities, along with reporting deposits and payables to the County via Excel spreadsheets. The individual may assist with other duties related to venue management as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.
  • At least 1 to 5 years' experience in public accounting, inventory accounting.
  • Experience with SAGE, DeFacto, D365, The Hub, INFOR is desired.
  • Extensive knowledge of general, cost and inventory accounting.
  • Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.
  • Excellent communication, people skills and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
