About the position

The Accounting Manager position at Robert Half is a hybrid role designed for a high-end investment firm seeking to maintain accurate accounting records and financial reports for complex entity structures. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting across all assigned entities. This includes ownership of the general ledger and financial reporting processes, which are critical for the firm's operations. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate books and records, overseeing the accounting period close process, and supervising junior staff members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices. In this role, the Accounting Manager will oversee the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial accounting package, which includes essential financial statements such as the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows. Additionally, the position involves client and management reporting, as well as debt and equity investor reporting. The Accounting Manager will coordinate and oversee independent audits, ensuring that all financial consolidations and account reconciliations are performed accurately and timely. It is crucial for the Accounting Manager to develop, maintain, and enforce appropriate accounting policies and procedures to uphold the integrity of financial reporting. The role also requires the Accounting Manager to assist with special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the team's success. Responsibilities

  • Ownership of general ledger and financial reporting for all assigned entities.
  • Maintain accurate books and records and manage the accounting period close process.
  • Supervise and review the work of junior staff members.
  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly financial accounting package, including balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows.
  • Coordinate and oversee independent audits.
  • Review daily and periodic general ledger entries, financial consolidations, and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting policies and procedures are developed, maintained, and enforced.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of financial services experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Experience in preparing journal entries and financial statements and working within a general ledger (D365 or Advent/Geneva experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with bank debt and/or foreign currency transactions preferred.
  • Must be very intelligent, a fast learner, extremely detail oriented, and thorough with strong analytical skills.
  • Desire to continually improve processes and procedures to achieve greater accuracy and/or efficiency.
  • Must have a hands-on attitude and be willing to roll-up their sleeves to do what is needed to support the efforts of the team.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex transactions and understand their impact on the financial statements.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with D365 or Advent/Geneva accounting software.
