About the position

The Accounting Manager will support the North America Lottery Accounting organization by overseeing daily accounting operations and collaborating closely with the North America Lottery Controller. This role involves ensuring compliance with accounting standards, managing financial reporting, and improving internal controls, with potential for future expansion into a managerial position.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily accounting operations including general accounting, revenue recognition, month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Execute key control activities within the team's scope.
  • Ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with company policies and US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Support monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis for management reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures under US GAAP and IFRS for the Corporate Financial Reporting group.
  • Streamline and continuously improve processes and internal controls.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing required documentation and responding to audit queries.
  • Conduct ad hoc reporting and projects as needed, supporting the North America Lottery Controller.
  • Collaborate with and support other members of the North America Lottery accounting team as needed.
  • Manage a staff of accounting professionals in the future, including developing and evaluating personnel.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, including 3+ years in public accounting.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842 accounting concepts highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills enabling simultaneous management of multiple projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA certification desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree desirable.
