About the position

The Finance & Accounting Manager will lead the financial operations of a large agricultural company, focusing on budgeting, reporting, and compliance. This role is critical for driving profitability and optimizing financial processes while collaborating with company leadership and external CPAs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial goals aligned with the company's strategic plan.
• Collaborate with executives on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Support planning for mergers, acquisitions, and other major financial initiatives.
• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial close processes (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Prepare and compile financial reports, including profit-and-loss statements and cash flow analysis.
• Coordinate with CPAs on tax planning, annual filings, and compliance with GAAP.
• Lead the development of the annual budget and monitor financial performance against it.
• Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports (940, 941, DE-9, DE-9c, W-2s, and 1099s).
• Provide detailed monthly financial statements and variance analysis to management.
• Develop financial policies to improve cash flow, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records, maintaining full GAAP compliance.
• Manage financial ERP systems and contribute to their implementation and optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally in the agriculture industry.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and QuickBooks Desktop.
• Experience with tax planning, payroll reporting, and financial compliance.
• Familiarity with financial ERP systems (experience in implementation is a plus).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
