About the position

Pioneer Critical Power is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial management as the company experiences rapid growth. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the parent company's CFO and indirectly to the General Manager, receiving training and support from the Company's Fractional CFO, who is a former Controller. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. This position is designed for someone who is looking to advance to the role of Divisional Controller in the near future. In this role, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial data to senior management, and developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures. The position also involves coordinating the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts, monitoring budget performance, and providing variance analysis. The Accounting Manager will oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, manage cash flow, and optimize working capital. Compliance is a key aspect of this role, as the Accounting Manager will ensure adherence to GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements, coordinate and manage external audits, and oversee multi-state sales and use tax filings. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. The role also includes identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy, leveraging technology to streamline accounting operations, and supporting strategic initiatives and special projects as required, providing financial insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, SOX and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in ERP implementations.
  • Experience in multi-state sales and use tax filings.
  • Experience in job costing and inventory control.
  • Experience in manufacturing and service industries, preferably with a focus on back-up power generation and/or EV charging equipment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
