About the position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting departments of KPH Healthcare Services, ensuring the development, preparation, analysis, and maintenance of corporate accounting records and financial reports. This role involves direct supervision of the General Ledger and Accounts Receivable departments, as well as training and performance reviews of subordinate staff. The position is based in either Gouverneur or East Syracuse, NY, and is not remote.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision for the General Ledger & Accounts Receivable departments
• Develop accounting standards and procedures for approval by the Controller
• Prepare and maintain corporate financial, accounting, and statistical records
• Provide oversight for new business opportunities and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Responsible for preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations
• Develop and monitor procedures for financial accounting transactions
• Provide direction and advice to departmental managers on financial procedures
• Apply internal control principles in developing accounting control reports
• Assist in the development of an annual departmental budget
• Coordinate and oversee financial audits by State and Federal Agencies
• Oversee preparation of financial transactions for the Kinney Drugs Foundation
• Coordinate team monthly staff meetings
• Review accuracy of Monthly Profit and Loss Statements
• Oversee maintenance of fixed asset records
• Assess and implement technologies to maximize departmental efficiencies
• Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BA, BS or higher in accounting or related field
• 5 years previous accounting supervisory experience preferred
