About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager specializing in Revenue and Inventory Accounting to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role is designed for an individual contributor who will manage our clients' comprehensive accounting needs, blending public accounting and industry experience. Our operations span across multiple sites, consolidating financials from 12 regions and 45 locations, making this position critical for accurate financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in revenue recognition and inventory accounting, particularly within distribution, manufacturing, or services-based businesses that involve parts and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of the full cycle of accounting, including the preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis. The Accounting Manager will collaborate with various departments to ensure proper accounting practices are followed and will assist in preparing interim financial statements and supporting the annual external audit process. In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing balance sheets and income statements, preparing ad hoc reports for management, and documenting internal controls. Your ability to manage multiple projects effectively and produce timely deliverables will be essential in this fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Prepare the full cycle of accounting to ensure accurate and comprehensive reporting of company transactions.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Account for project revenues, expenses, accruals, and related account analyses promptly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper accounting for purchases and expenses.
  • Prepare, analyze, and review monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statements, including comparisons to forecasted and trended results.
  • Interact with corporate and divisional finance teams to maintain consistent accounting practices.
  • Assist in preparing interim financial statements.
  • Provide support for the company's annual external audit.
  • Prepare various ad hoc and monthly recurring reports and analyses for management.
  • Assist in documenting internal controls.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA is a plus.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff, anticipate next steps, take initiative, exercise discretion, and apply sound judgment.
  • Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Specific experience with GAAP in revenue recognition and inventory accounting is required.
  • Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to establish collaborative working relationships.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Highly proficient computer and software skills, including advanced Excel; NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work well under deadline pressure.
